Harry is a bit odd for a few days. He doesn't cook any more, he doesn't play with the Super NES any more, he just reads. A very big book... and he takes it everywhere he goes.

'What are you doing with this book, Harry?' asks Simone a bit annoyed.
'Shhhh, Simone, I'm reading!'

'Harry, what about a chess game?'
' No Killian, don't you see I'm reading?'

- Harry! Harry!

'Harry! Harry! Let me in! It's urgent!'
'Jeez, Simone, leave me alone! Is there any quiet place for reading in this house?

'Harry! I'm hungry!'
'Can't you make yourself a sandwich, Simone? I haven't finished my book yet!'

C'était long!

'I'm finished!' Harry finally says one morning.
' Good! ' Simone answers. 'It took a while! Can I have some toasties now?
'Well, it's a a pretty good story. A story of a Southern lady, of war and love... Would you like to watch the dvd with me?'

- Ooooh!

'Ohhh, what a lovely dress!'
'Shhh, Simone, shut up and watch!'
'Don't you think Scarlett is a bit posh, Harry?'
'She's a lady, Killian, don't you understand? She is not like us!'

'Look, Marcel, I'm making a dress just like Scarlett's!'
'Great idea', Marcel thinks. 'As long as it's not for me...'

- Eh bien, que se passe-t-il? Pourquoi pleures-tu, Simone?

'What's the matter, Simone? Why do you cry?'
'It's because of the dress! It's a disaster! I wanted to make a dress like Scarlett's!'
'Don't worry, I know someone who can fix it...

Et un peu plus tard...
And later on...

-'Stop wriggling, Simone, I need to measure you if you want a perfect fit!'

The following morning, Killian and Molly the seamstress arrive with two big parcels.

'What a lovely dress', Simone cries; 'It's exactly what I wanted!'
'Wait a minute, Simone, I need to tighten your girdle before you put it on!'

Harry and Killian are trying the hats.
'Stop being silly, you two', Simone says, 'You are stretching them!'
But she cannot refrain from giggling!

Et, pendant ce temps dans l'atelier....
In the meanwhile, in the workshop...

'Hurry up cutting those threads, Ernest, and then let's see this new dress. And mind my tail, please!

- Quelle horreur, pauvre, pauvre petite!

'Poor little one', thinks Marcel looking at the mannequin. 'No arms, no head!'
'And no legs either!' Ernest adds.
'Poor, poor little thing, what a shame!'

Simone enfile sa robe.
- On prends des photos , dit Killian. Simone, tu es ravissante!
- Encore plus belle que Scarlett O'Hara, ajoute Harry.

Simone puts her dress on.
'Let's take photos' says Killian. 'Simone, you are gorgeous!'
'Much prettier than Scarlett O'Hara', Harry says.
'

'She would be much better with a head, wouldn't she? What do you reckon, Ernest?'
'Mmmm, that would help for smiling on the picture, for sure!'

picnic, pique nique ; souris

'Harry! Do you think people will like my new dress?''
'Positively, Simone, they will adore it, but can you stop eating all the biscuits?'
'Well, I have to try them to be sure they are good enough for the guests!'

'Killian,  there are marshmallows everywhere on the floor!'
'Gosh, Simone, do you think it's easy to do, I haven't got any fingers! This bloody skewers will never be ready in time!'

And now it's the big Day ...

'Oh Harry, Killian cries, are you sure making a garden party here is a good idea? It looks so big and so... outside!'
'Don't be scared, Killian, everything will be all right'
'Can we hurry up a bit, Simone says, the guests will be here very soon!'

'We are both ready now,  so put your dress on, Simone!'
'But I need you to help me with the hat!'

'Which one do you prefer, Harry?'
- Lequel tu préfères, Harry?

fashion, mode,

'The white one is the best, isn't it? '
'You are gorgeous, Simone, Harry says, you really are!'

- Finalement, je prends le chapeau blanc!
- Tu es absolument ravissante, Simone, dit Harry, vraiment!

pique nique, picnic
'You really did well with Simone's dress, Mrs Molly. Simone is gorgeous,  Killian says.
'Simone looks terribly proud of it!' Mr Pudding says.

picninc, barbecue, pet, rodents

The skewers are ready.
'It was a heck of a job, Killian says. These damn things don't like to be drilled! And they are so sticky!
'I couldn't have done it, Peter Pudding says, not enough fingers!'

The picnic is going smoothly, everyone enjoying his glass of juice and the marshmallow skewers, the cakes, the biscuits  and the fruits....

But Simone looks a bit lonely...
Mais Simone est toute seule...

gone with the wind

'Want a drink, Simone?'
'Mind the bottle Killian I don't want my dress to be stained! And I don't want to crease it either!'
'Up to you, Simone. Enjoy the picnic, then!'

scarlett

'Oh good afternoon, Mrs Molly,!'
'Simone, may I introduce my daughter? She wanted to meet you.'
'Hi Simone! I'm Josefine. Your dress is really funny, do you know that? You look a bit like a wedding cake with all this lace and ribbons!'
'Josefine! cries Mrs Molly . Watch your mouth!'

- Oh, bonjour, Madame Molly!

'I'm going fishing,' says Josefine.' Would you like to come with me?'
' No! I don't want to fish with you, you've said nasty things to me! Leave me alone!'
'Oh well, you don't know what you're missing!'

But after a while...

'Pfff, no one cares about me... They are all chatting and drinking. No one looks at me!  I'm bored, I'm so bored!'

Mais au bout d'un moment...
- Pff... Personne ne me regarde! Je m'ennuie, je m'ennuie tellement!

'Oh... You've changed your mind, then?'
'I'm so bored! No one talks to me... And I'm too hot in the sun. Can I fish with you?'

- Oh, tu as changé d'idée, alors?
- Je m'embête tellement! Personne ne me parle!

'My hat! My hat!
'Simone, be careful!  It's slippery here!

- Mon chapeau! Mon chapeau!
- Simone, fais attention, ça glisse!

Josefine grabs the hat with her net.
Joséfine rattrape le chapeau avec son épuisette.

'Oh Josefine, I've been so scared! Thanks for rescuing me!'
'You're fine now, no need to cry! Come to my burrow, I will fetch you some dry clothes. You know,  I didn't really mean it when I said you looked like a wedding cake!
'And I didn't mean you are nasty...I was just cross.'

- Oh, Joséfine, j'ai eu tellement peur! Tu m'as sauvée, merci!

'I wonder what Simone is doing, she 's no more on her chair...', Harry says.

'I've seen her with Josefine.' Tim says. 'They seem to get on well together!'
'Oh, that's good, Simone is not used to other children, you know, she can be a bit... you know... children!'
'Don't worry, Harry', Nell says. 'I'm sure they will be good friends!'

'Isn't it better than sulking on your chair?' laughs Josefine
'You're right, Josefine,  this dress was terribly warm and itchy, I wonder how Scarlett was enduring it!'
'Pff! I'm sure she would  have prefered going fishing...'
'All this emotion has made me hungry! What about going home and have lemonade and sweets? And I have a DVD I want to show you!'

The picnic is over, everyone was very happy.  Everything was absolutely perfect!

'It has been a lovely day, hasn't it, Killian?...  But now we have to clean all this mess up! Killian, can you help me with the dishes? ... Killian?'
'In a minute, Harry, I'm reading 'Gone with the Wind', it's totally fascinating!'

So Harry washes the dishes and tidies up the kitchen. And when he comes back from the bathroom, Killian is still here, reading.

'What the matter, Killian? Why do you cry?'
'Oh Harry, it's so sad... Melanie is dead! I can't bear it!'
'Well, it's sad indeed... But you know, Killian,  it's just a book!'
'Oh Harry, you're such a cold fish sometimes... I know it's a book! but I can't help it!
'Sorry, Killian, I was sad too when Melanie died, but don't worry, it gets better afterwards!  Where is Simone by the way?'

'They're here, Marcel thinks. They wanted to watch the Blues Brothers and now they all are sleeping. Even Ernest... What a shame! Oh,  if only I could dance!'
