Une montagne de  tissus anglais...

A mountain of English fabrics...

J'ai rencontré il y a quelques années un monsieur anglais qui avait un trésor dans son sous-sol : des kilomètres de tissu d'ameublement ancien, des années 70 aux années 2000. Tissus anglais bien sûr, donc bonne qualité et look .... anglais. Moi j'aime ça. Je suis très anglophile.
D'ailleurs quelque  temps plus tard le monsieur anglais est devenu mon compagnon (eh oui je suis terriblement anglophile !) et les tissus ont commencé à envahir mon atelier.
Il y avait de tout : grosse toile, cotonnades, liberty, soie, satin, velours, des imprimés magnifiques... et des trucs tellement affreux qu'ils en étaient marrants.

A few years ago, I met an Englishman who kept a treasure in his basement: kilometers of old upholstery and curtain fabrics, from the 70's to the end of the 90's. English fabrics of course, good quality and ... English fashion! I like that. I am very anglophile. By the way, not long after the Englisman became my partner  (told you I was terribly Anglophile!) and the fabric started to spread all over my workshop.
There were so various: canvas, liberty, chintz, silk, satin, velvet, and wonderful printing... along with a few ugly ones, so amazingly ugly that they were really funny.... from my French point of view!

Et des trucs plus improbables... some of them I find quite odd...

Depuis un moment, j'avais dans l'idée de fabriquer des sacs... Maintenant j'avais les tissus ET la brodeuse Et l'atelier ET le temps !!!

Malheureusement, je ne crois pas qu'il ait été traduit en français, mais, une fois qu'on a compris les termes techniques, les explications sont très claires et les tutoriels très bien faits !
